Renaissance CenterRenaissance Center Average User Rating: (0 votes, add your vote or comments) The Renaissance Center, nicknamed the RenCen, and its centerpiece, the 70-story central tower, is the tallest building in the state of Michigan housing one of the tallest hotels in the nation. The building is famous for its cylindrical design. The complex was the center of the Detroit revitalization project. The Ren-Cen is located several blocks east of Woodward Avenue and the city's central financial district on East Jefferson Avenue along the Riverfront near the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel. Set apart from the rest of Detroit's skyscrapers, it has gained a reputation for being a "city within a city". It is a short distance from Cobo Arena, Cobo Hall, and Joe Louis Arena.
